This has been a huge success locally, and contains various black and white photographs which cannot be found elsewhere. Beautifully produced, and full of informative details, the majority of the photographs are of the towns, hotels, and other places of interest in Caithness. Excellent quality. Excerpt from author’s introduction – ‘Memories of Caithness is concerned with the past, and is illustrated with postcards and photographs from my own collection dating from the 1860s to about 1950. The illustrations follow an anticlockwise route commencing at the Ord of Caithness, and are arranged in two broad sequences – the North Sea Coast and the Pentland Coast – with each section having diversions inland. ‘Deepest Caithness’, my name for the Flow Country, is featured in the latter.
